Find your size with body measurements first. Product pages add garment measurements and a fit label (Fitted, Standard, Relaxed, or Oversized). This guide is the brand size standard for jackets and clothing (Brand Size Chart 04/13/2026).

How to measure

Use a soft tape. Stand straight, breathe normally, and keep the tape snug but not tight. Measure over light clothing or bare skin.
- Chest — fullest part of the bust; tape parallel to the floor
- Waist — natural waist (usually the narrowest point above the hip bone)
- High hip — two inches below the natural waist (mid-rise reference)
- Hip — fullest part of the hips and seat
Body chart first. Garment measurement tables on product pages are secondary (length, half-chest of the garment, sleeve, and so on). Do not treat half-chest garment numbers as your body size.

Fit designations

- Fitted — tailored, close-to-skin silhouette (e.g. Boat Neck Long Sleeve; Audrey bodice)
- Standard — classic shape with balanced comfort and structure (e.g. Ayla Quilted Jacket)
- Relaxed — slightly looser for ease without excess volume (e.g. Elevated Sweater Knit Hoodie)
- Oversized — generous, roomy cut for layering or statement style
Between sizes? Fitted styles: size up for more ease. Standard: true-to-size or size up if you layer heavy knits. Relaxed: true-to-size usually works. Oversized: stay true unless you want even more volume.
Knits and XS
The brand outerwear alpha chart is S–XL. Some knit styles (boat neck, hoodie) also offer XS, graded below S. Use the S body numbers as your floor, then check that product’s garment table for XS measurements.
Clothing product pages include both this body guidance and style-specific garment charts. Jacket pages are moving to the same format as grading sheets are added.
Weatherproof technology
Mia Melon weatherproof jackets combine refined fabrics with real protection for city and coastal weather.
DWR treatment
Each jacket arrives with an eco-friendly Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. To check it, sprinkle a few water droplets on the shell. If they do not bead and roll off, refresh the DWR with a quality outdoor spray or wash-in treatment.
Fabrics
We use cotton, wool blends, sweater knits, denim, herringbone, twill, and technical shells so outerwear can look polished and still shed weather. Modern DWR and construction keep those fabrics ready for rain and damp days.
Signature features
- Micro-fleece lining — soft interior comfort on many styles
- Thermal membrane — on applicable jackets: waterproof, windproof, heat-reflective layer between shell and lining for warmth without bulk
Weatherproof Me construction
Our Weatherproof Me approach is lab-tested for waterproof performance. We rate coverage at 99% waterproof by design: the remaining fraction reflects untaped seams on custom-bonded fabrics, a choice that preserves a cleaner, more tailored look than fully taped technical shells. Care for DWR and follow each product’s care notes so protection lasts.
